Job summary

FORVIA is seeking a year-round Industrial Engineering Intern for its Simpsonville, KY location. The role provides hands-on manufacturing experience applying IE and Lean principles to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity.

You will observe operations on the production floor, document current processes, perform time studies, and assist with standard work development under mentoring. Strong communication and problem-solving are valued.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Available to work a consistent hourly schedule based on plant needs.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing or process improvement concepts.
• Ability to work in a production environment (standing, walking, observing operations).
• Minimum 2.8 GPA is required.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on the production floor observing operations and learning processes.
• Document current-state processes, including process maps, work sequences, and layouts.
• Perform time studies and assist with standard work development and updates.
• Collect and organize production data and help prepare simple presentations or reports.
