Job summary

Forvia is seeking an Engineering Intern to join the Maintenance/Controls team in Louisville, KY. The role offers hands-on experience in the automotive sector, focusing on troubleshooting, PLC/HMI development, and creating new manufacturing stations.

You will collaborate with the engineering team and cross-functional groups to drive continuous improvement, optimize processes, and support various engineering projects throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance and controls team with breakdown troubleshooting and repair, plus future preventative measures.
• Learn to create and edit PLCs, HMI, and Vision systems using various software packages.
• Help engineering to design new manufacturing stations from scratch.
• Assist in analysis and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
