Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer for our client in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on improving production efficiency, reducing costs, and boosting overall productivity on the shop floor.

You will analyze processes, apply lean tools, conduct time studies, and collaborate with supervisors and quality teams to sustain improvements. On-site position requiring hands-on problem solving and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in industrial engineering within manufacturing.
• Proven experience with lean principles and tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM).

Responsabilités

• Analyze production workflows, equipment utilization, and labor performance to identify inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce cycle times, minimize work-in-progress, and improve throughput.
• Apply lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and Poka-Yoke to eliminate waste.
• Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work procedures and performance benchmarks.
• Collaborate with the production team to implement process changes and provide training on new methodologies.
• Monitor KPIs related to production efficiency and quality, and report on progress.
• Identify opportunities for automation and technology adoption to enhance productivity.
• Develop business cases and justifications for capital expenditures related to process improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of processes, standards, and improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving on the shop floor.
