Placements24 is seeking a Plant Industrial Engineer for our Welkom, Free State site to optimize production lines and boost overall efficiency on site. You will analyze workflows, perform time studies, and implement Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.

The role collaborates with production supervisors, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to sustain high standards of operational excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering required.
3–5 years of experience in an industrial engineering role within manufacturing.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience beneficial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze production processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop improvement strategies.
Conduct time studies, work measurement, and layout analysis to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
Develop and maintain SOPs for manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.
Manage plant layout design and material flow optimization projects.
Track KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Ensure safety and environmental regulations in process designs.
Assist in evaluating and implementing new equipment and technologies.
