Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Process Engineer to optimize operations in Welkom. The role involves analyzing production processes, designing improvements, and driving data-driven projects on the shop floor to boost efficiency and quality.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams, develop SOPs, run experiments, and monitor KPIs to achieve cost reductions and continuous improvement across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in process engineering or industrial engineering.
• Experience with lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• Experience with SPC and data analysis software.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on the shop floor with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current production processes, workflows, and plant layouts to identify inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
• Design and conduct experiments to test new processes and optimize existing ones.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure successful implementation of engineering projects.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide training to operational staff.
• Monitor process performance, collect data, and report on KPIs relevant to Welkom operations.
