Job summary

Saft is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day assembly operations, aligning labor, materials, equipment, and priorities to the production plan, while ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

You will develop assemblers and technicians, monitor shop floor performance, drive Lean improvement, maintain accurate ERP/MES records, and coordinate cross-functional support with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing/Operations related field; preferred for larger or more technical operations.
• 5+ years of hands on assembly experience and 2+ years supervising production teams in a high-mix or special product manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma, ISO quality systems, ERP/MES, and new product introductions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily assembly operations across all assigned workstations, aligning labor, equipment, and priorities to the production plan.
• Plan shift start-up, work allocation, line changeovers, and handovers.
• Monitor shop floor performance in real time and take timely corrective action when output, yield, scrap, or downtime deviates from plan.
• Build a safe, compliant workplace by enforcing PPE, lockout-tagout, safe material handling, ergonomics, and applicable OSHA, ISO, and internal requirements.
• Ensure product quality.
• Lead first-level troubleshooting and structured root-cause analysis.
• Manage, coach, and evaluate assemblers and technicians.
• Maintain accurate, current production records in ERP/MES and controlled documents.
• Drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate kitting, material availability, inventory accuracy, and shortage recovery.
• Control production costs within assigned authority.
