Job summary

RECONN, a leading utility safety company, is hiring Leak Survey Technicians to survey gas lines and ensure pipeline integrity. This role involves outdoor work, using gas-detection equipment, and documenting findings. You may work weekends and overtime; training is provided.

Based in Millville, NJ, starting pay is $20/hr with daytime, full-time schedules and potential advancement. A valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 75 lbs are required, with opportunity for benefits and overtime

Qualifications

• Proficiency with technology is required to operate survey equipment and record data.
• Customer service experience is a plus for interactions with customers and contractors.
• Ability to pass a drug screen is required for a safety-sensitive position.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for field work.

Responsibilities

• Survey gas lines to assess integrity using detection equipment.
• Investigate, classify, and document any detected leaks.
• May inspect inside gas services/meters with similar equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on weekends as needed.

Leak Survey Technicians provide an important service to utilities and the public. Leak Survey Technicians use a variety of equipment to survey gas lines ensuring pipeline integrity. When a leak is detected, it is investigated, classified, and documented. This position may also require inspection of inside gas services/meters using similar gas detection equipment.

We are currently hiring throughout Millville, NJ. The starting pay for this position is $20/hr. These are daytime; full-time positions and overtime may be required. Instructor-led training will be provided. This position may require you to work on weekends.

What We Need from You (Our Requirements)

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Previous outdoor experience is a plus
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
• Customer service experience is a plus
• Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position)
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required
• Ability to use simple hand tools
• Ability to read utility maps
