Job summary

Reconn Utility Services is hiring a Utility Inspection Technician in Toledo, OH to check gas meters for leaks and corrosion. You will perform visual inspections and ensure all required paperwork is completed, reporting on time to your assigned area.

This daytime, full-time role involves outdoor work, potential overtime and weekends, and on-site conditions. We provide a company vehicle, paid training, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend and stoop; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
• Ability to use simple hand tools.
• Ability to read a utility map.

Utility Inspection Technician: Responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion. This includes visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed. Meter Inspection Technicians will be required to report to their respective work area on time at the start of each shift. While on-site, the technician will be responsible for identifying any abnormal operating conditions along with accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (the form may be electronic or paper).

We are currently hiring throughout the Toledo, OH area.

These are daytime, full-time positions and overtime may be required. Instructor-led training will be provided. This position may require you to work weekends.

What We Need From You (Our Requirements)

• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners. Customer service experience is a plus
• Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position)
