Job summary

RECONN is seeking a Utilities Inspection Technician to perform on-site gas meter inspections, detect leaks, and document findings. You will use hand tools and maps to navigate job sites, while maintaining safety and accuracy in paperwork.

The role requires frequent outdoor work, availability for overtime and weekends, and a valid driver's license. Training is provided and a company vehicle will be used for daily duties.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to stand and walk long periods; lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Check gas meters for leaks and corrosion; inspect and document findings.
• Complete all required forms (electronic or paper) accurately during inspections.
• Report to assigned area on time; identify abnormal conditions on-site.

Utility Inspection Technician: Responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion. This includes visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed. Meter Inspection Technicians will be required to report to their respective work area on time at the start of each shift. While on-site, the technician will be responsible for identifying any abnormal operating conditions along with accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (the form may be electronic or paper).

We are currently hiring throughout the Toledo, OH area. These are daytime, full-time positions and overtime may be required. Instructor-led training will be provided. This position may require you to work weekends.

What We Need From You (Our Requirements)

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Previous outdoor experience is a plus


• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed


• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.


• Proficiency with technology


• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners. Customer service experience is a plus


• Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position)


• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record required


• Ability to use simple hand tools


• Ability to read a utility map
