Job summary

City of Fort Wayne Leaf Pick-Up Laborer is a seasonal outdoor role with hours 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from October to December.

You will work with the Street Department to collect leaves and debris citywide, using hand tools and leaf vacuums. No prior experience is required, and safety procedures must be followed. Applicants should be ready for physical outdoor work, able to stand and walk for extended periods, and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Leaf Pick-Up Laborer – Seasonal-Street Department

Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. October-December

Looking for a seasonal opportunity that keeps you active and outdoors? Join the City of Fort Wayne Street Department and help keep our neighborhoods clean during leaf collection season. No previous experience is required.

What You'll Do

Work alongside the Street Department team to collect leaves and remove debris throughout the City. This is a hands-on, physically active position performed primarily outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

• Rake, sweep, collect, and remove leaves and other debris.
• Assist with general cleanup throughout assigned neighborhoods.
• Use hand tools and help operate equipment such as leaf vacuum machines.
• Safely perform physically demanding work, including bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, reaching, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Follow all City safety procedures and work professionally with coworkers and the public.
