Job summary

The City of Fort Wayne is hiring a Laborer A-Street Department. Schedule: 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM leaf season). This hands-on, outdoor role supports daily street operations such as repairing roads, clearing debris, seasonal tasks, and maintaining safe neighborhoods.

No prior experience required; training provided. Must be able to pass post-offer screening, obtain CDL A within 6 months, and hold Indiana driver's license. Frequent lifting; work in all weather.

What You'll Do

What You Bring | Education & Experience

Required Certifications

• Valid Indiana's driver's license
• Ability to obtain CDL A permit and CDL physical within 30 days of hire
• Ability to obtain CDL A license within 6 months of hire (Tanker endorsement preferred)
• Must be 21 years of age or older to hold CDL with the City

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
• Regular bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling
• Sustained outdoor physical activity in all seasons
