Job summary

The City of Fort Wayne is hiring a Laborer A-Street Department. Schedule: 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM leaf season). This hands-on, outdoor role supports daily street operations such as repairing roads, clearing debris, seasonal tasks, and maintaining safe neighborhoods.

No prior experience required; training provided. Must be able to pass post-offer screening, obtain CDL A within 6 months, and hold Indiana driver's license. Frequent lifting; work in all weather.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with street repair, resurfacing, and alley maintenance
• Support seasonal operations including leaf pickup, snow removal, mowing, and street sweeping
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and chipper equipment
• Load, unload, stack, and transport materials and debris
• Maintain safe, clean work areas while working outdoors in all weather conditions
