Job summary

City of Fort Wayne Leaf Pick-Up Laborer is a seasonal outdoor role with hours 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. from October to December.

You will work with the Street Department to collect leaves and debris citywide, using hand tools and leaf vacuums. No prior experience is required, and safety procedures must be followed. Applicants should be ready for physical outdoor work, able to stand and walk for extended periods, and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience or training required.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Dependability, good judgment, and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures, humidity, rain, dust, grease, and loud conditions.
• Indiana driver’s license recommended but not required.

Responsibilities

• Rake, sweep, collect, and remove leaves and debris.
• Assist with general cleanup in assigned neighborhoods.
• Use hand tools and operate leaf vacuum equipment.
