Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Development Office is seeking an Assistant Director of Development to advance philanthropy in support of our mission in Boston. You will manage a portfolio of prospects, qualify and solicit gifts below $250K, and collaborate with colleagues across Philanthropic Relations to build unrestricted and major gift pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 3-5 years of fundraising or related experience.
• Experience devising and implementing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, strong work ethic and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficiency in data entry, data management and reporting.
• Ability to motivate, engage, influence and work collaboratively with diverse internal and external audiences.
• Entrepreneurial, conscientious and results-oriented work style, with motivation to learn and display flexibility in a changing environment.
• Experience with Blackbaud CRM (or Raiser’s Edge), Microsoft Office Suite, and video conferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams) preferred

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and solicit gifts from prospects with capacity to give up to $250K.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and meet annual fundraising metrics.
• Document all activity in the donor database.
• Collaborate across departments to align unrestricted and restricted fundraising efforts.
• Close new and renewed gifts, including outright and planned gifts.
• Advocate for unrestricted giving within internal and external audiences.
• Develop understanding of Mass General Brigham’s programs to inform asks.
• Engage with colleagues to contribute to a productive office environment.
