Job summary

Cal State East Bay is seeking a Donor Engagement Officer to expand its donor pipeline and cultivate annual gifts, ranging from $1,000 to $15,000, with potential for larger gifts. The role reports to the Senior Director of Development and collaborates across University Advancement to deepen donor relationships and sustain lead gifts.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a portfolio of relationships

• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information

Responsibilities

• Build a robust pipeline of leadership annual giving donors and future major gift prospects
• Manage an assigned portfolio of alumni, donors, and prospective donors
• Develop and execute strategies to acquire, retain, renew, and upgrade donors
• Conduct donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship conversations
• Personally solicit and close leadership annual gifts and multi-year commitments
• Identify prospects for gifts of $25,000 or more and coordinate their transition to major gift officers
• Maintain knowledge of university priorities and communicate impact of private support
• Create donor proposals and stewardship materials
• Record donor contacts and next steps in the advancement database
• Meet annual performance expectations for donor contacts, visits, and gifts
