Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Supervisor, Operations Skills Training, to lead enterprise learning for field-based craft disciplines including line, substation, transmission, and relay. You will direct instructors, align training with safety standards, and drive continuous improvement across training programs.

You will manage schedules, evaluate trainee readiness, and collaborate with Operations to ensure high-performance results and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with six years of related experience; or Associate degree with eight years of related experience including training supervision.
• Ten years of related experience including supervisory training in utility operations is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and ability to manage budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the new apprenticeship program with safety, training requirements, and scheduling.
• Lead, coach, and develop direct reports including performance evaluations and development planning.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and retention of instructors and training staff.
• Set priorities, manage workloads across instructors and locations, and adjust plans to meet changing needs.
• Ensure instructor qualifications, certifications, and competencies are maintained and aligned with programs.
