Liberty Mutual is seeking a Claims Team Manager to lead a Workers’ Compensation team. The role focuses on engaging and developing staff, maintaining high service standards, and aligning team work with Liberty Mutual’s vision.

The incumbent will manage a group of claims specialists, ensure quality processes, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic environment. Preferred candidates will reside within 50 miles of a Commercial Claims office and be willing to travel to a West Coast state.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Workers Compensation Claims investigation, loss assessment, reserving, insurance legal and regulatory environment, litigation and fraud awareness.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day operations for the claims staff by establishing priorities, scheduling and assigning work and coaching employees.
• Leads and develops a high performing team through onboarding, ongoing development and performance feedback.
• Manages continuous improvement and ensures use of tools and standard work to foster problem solving and innovation.
• Maintains internal and external customer relationships; serves as primary contact for agents, brokers and policyholders.
• Hosts claim reviews and communicates performance to customers.
• Provides management oversight of claims files, reviews open inventories and discusses training needs.
• Coaches to improve technical expertise within the team.
• Monitors reserves, settlements and payments within authority limits.
• Uses data analytics to monitor production, inventory, financials and quality.
• Ensures compliance with licensing and fair claims practices; stays aware of legislation and trends in claims litigation.
