Job summary

Capital One in McLean, VA seeks a Lead Platform Engineer for Workday to strengthen HR technology across HCM, Recruiting, Benefits and Payroll. You will design and implement integrations, lead a team of integrators, and drive automation and high-availability workloads in the Workday landscape.

You will collaborate with product owners, apply Agile practices, and ensure secure, scalable platform solutions while mentoring teammates and delivering high-value HR outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience on HR platforms (Workday)
• 4+ years of experience with Workday Integrations or functional configuration (HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll)
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role overseeing strategic projects

Responsibilities

• Understand business priorities and translate HR value propositions into engineering outcomes.
• Deliver Workday solutions across HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Payroll and Benefits with high standards.
• Communicate effectively with team, Product Owner and stakeholders to influence solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and redesign business processes.
• Design and develop complex Workday integrations using web services (SOAP/REST) and XML.
• Lead integrators and configurators to support Workday HCM modules.
• Collaborate with product owners to align priorities and deliver using Agile practices.
• Design and build automation workflows and conduct unit tests and code reviews.
