Job summary

Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, is seeking a Workday Payroll, Time Tracking & Absence Lead to own these modules end to end, from design through go-live and steady-state operations.

You will be the resident expert on how Workday calculates, accrues, and pays for US employees and for our international workforce, working with Payroll Ops, Finance, and People to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in HRIS or payroll systems, with 6+ years configuring Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence.
• Workday depth: payroll processes, calculation engine, tax configuration, retro processing, payroll accounting.
• Global payroll experience via partners or integrations and cross-country reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as functional lead for Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence in Workday implementation; drive design, configure, test, and sign off for cutover.
• Configure US Payroll for US & Canada: pay groups, earnings, deductions, tax setup, garnishments, payroll accounting, and period-end processing.
• Design and operate flows between Workday and international payroll providers; manage integrations and GL postings.
• Configure Time Tracking for hourly and non-exempt populations; manage schedules, approvals, rules, and code mappings.
• Build and maintain Absence plans across US and international populations; manage accruals, carryover, and payouts.
• Own payroll-adjacent integrations and data validation to keep Workday, payroll results, and GL in agreement.
• Partner with Payroll Operations and Accounting on retro calculations, off-cycle payments, audits, and reconciliations.
• Design payroll processes and Workday security to satisfy SOX ITGC; support audits and evidence capture.
• Stay current with Workday releases; assess impact, test regressions, and adopt new functionality.
• Write documentation and train HR, managers, and Payroll; build reports and dashboards for self-service.
