Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a full-time Biologist for the Earth and Environment Sector with North Mountain focus, covering UT, CO, ID, MT, WY, OR, WA. You will lead and assist in botanical and wildlife surveys, wetlands inventories, and T&E species work, collaborating with a larger team on diverse projects.

The role requires independent work, strong communication, and field survey experience. Willingness to travel regionally is essential; remote field conditions are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of consulting experience, ideally with linear corridor projects (pipelines, transmission).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with USFWS, BLM, USFS, and state survey requirements.
• Attention to detail and professionalism.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Substantial biological field survey knowledge.
• Ability to work in remote conditions and travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally and potentially nationwide.
• Proven safety compliance and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Support and help build the environmental project team on transmission lines, fire hardening, renewables, pipelines, and other projects.
• Conduct biological field surveys across the North Mountain Region, including rare plants and sensitive wildlife.
• Assist with wetlands and biological surveys, permitting, and documentation.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
