Job summary

MONROE TRUCK EQUIPMENT, an Aebi Schmidt brand in Monroe, WI, is seeking a Lead to drive daily operational excellence on the shop floor. The Lead translates strategy into clear direction, builds team capability, and ensures safe, efficient operations.

You will troubleshoot, move unfinished and finished products, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, HR and others to strengthen operational alignment and accountability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing operating systems.
• Familiarity with 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead and influence teams with emotional intelligence.
• Understanding of workflow optimization and shop floor metrics.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied positions.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties and inspect work for quality and conformance to schedules.
• Troubleshoot shop floor issues and coordinate with supervisors to resolve problems.
• Move unfinished and finished products to proper locations using forklift when trained.
• Ensure equipment is set up safely and safety devices are used.
• Perform inspections per company and customer standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, HR and other departments to improve alignment.

Position

The Lead serves as the frontline leader responsible for driving daily operational excellence within the department. This role translates organizational strategy into clear direction and execution on the shop floor. The Lead builds team capability, ensures safe and efficient operations, proactively resolves challenges, and fosters a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies, procedures, and to the manufacturing schedule.


• Troubleshoot issues that arise on the shop floor and confer with supervisors and production personnel to resolve problems, keeping projects moving for the best outcome.


• Responsible for identifying and moving all unfinished and finished products to the proper location within the shop operating a forklift, if trained.


• Ensures all equipment is properly set up and used safely and that all safety devices are in use.


• Perform inspections as required by company and customer standards.


• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, HR, and other departments to strengthen operational alignment and communication.

• Knowledge of 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.


• Self-awareness and emotional intelligence to effectively lead and influence others.


• Strong understanding of manufacturing operating systems and workflow optimization.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.


• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.


• Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.


• Ability to work with arms above head.


• Ability to work from crawling or lying positions.


• Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
