Job summary

Leigh & Co. Events is seeking a Lead Wedding Coordinator in Maryland for 2026 season and beyond. This contract role offers flexible scheduling and on-site wedding coordination. Training is provided, with pay of $275–$300 per wedding for 10–12 hours, paid per project.

You will lead planning services onsite, work with client experience managers, and coordinate with assistant coordinators to execute weddings to spec.

Qualifications

2 years experience as a wedding planner or event planner is required.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
Reliable transportation required.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to work weekends is essential.

Responsibilities

Attend final details calls with clients ~6 weeks before wedding to confirm logistics and timeline.
Lead and facilitate ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding.
Serve as primary onsite advocate for the couple, maintaining calm, solutions-focused presence.
Oversee ceremony and reception setup aligned with design and playbook.
Manage full wedding day execution from vendor arrival to teardown.
Greet and direct vendors and communicate setup instructions clearly to ensure alignment with the plan.
Coordinate placement of escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest book, and decor elements.
Support wedding party and family with guidance and timing cues.
Ensure end-of-event items are packed and accounted for.
Proactively manage and resolve last-minute changes to maintain guest experience.
