Job summary

Sundt Careers is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead assigned projects, from preconstruction through construction, ensuring safety, profitability, and timely delivery. The role covers transition from estimating to field, budget oversight, and client relations for complex $20–$50 million projects.

The position requires 4-year construction degree, strong MS Office skills, and proven experience in contract management and cost control. Growth into Step II with larger scopes is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Experience in preconstruction and in managing construction projects.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent combinations of training/experience.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems, productivity analysis, and cash flow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Champions orderly, timely transition of projects from estimating to field, including project review meetings.
• Completes close-out requirements and punch lists in a timely manner; manages warranty callbacks.
• Coordinates with the Project Superintendent on means and methods for profitable execution.
• Establishes the project charter and a comprehensive PMP including scope, procurement, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk plans.
• Has overall responsibility for project success including profitability, safety, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Manages all billings and payment applications to maintain cash flow; ensures prompt pay with subs.
• Develops CPM schedule and coordinates with procurement schedule; prevents delays; uses Lean in scheduling.
• Participates in preparation/review of estimates focusing on cost control, resources, formwork, materials, and insurance.
• Participates in business development including client contacts, proposals, presentations, and negotiations.
• Prevents and mitigates claims; quantifies and resolves issues promptly.
• Prepares Monthly Progress Reports with cost projections.
• Prepares and executes purchase orders and subcontracts with respect to insurance certificates and liens.
• Understands prime contract terms; manages budgeting and cost control to meet approved budget; demonstrates business acumen.
• Reviews, negotiates, and executes change orders and budget adjustments.
