Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Water Treatment Technician III to operate filters, chlorinators, and other equipment in a treatment plant or remote stations. This role leads lower level technicians under technical supervision and requires the ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least four years of experience with water treatment plant operations, plus valid Maryland

Qualifications

• Knowledge of water treatment processes and safety practices.
• Ability to read gauges, meters, and simple laboratory tests.
• Experience operating mechanical and electrical equipment in a water treatment plant.
• Ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor filters, chlorinators, and other plant equipment.
• Lead lower level technicians and provide direction as required.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on plant operations.
• Participate in safety training and emergency response drills.
