Job summary

The City of Baltimore is hiring a Water Treatment Technician III to operate filters, chlorinators, dry chemical feeders and related equipment in a treatment plant or remote stations. You will lead lower-level technicians, receive supervision, and work rotating shifts including evenings and nights in a hazardous environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, four years of relevant experience, and certifications such as Maryland Water Treatment Class 4 and Water Sampler.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Four years operating water filters and related equipment.
• Licenses/Certificates: Maryland Water Treatment Class 4 Operator’s Certificate required.
• Other: Maryland Water Sampler Certification required within hire period.
• Respiratory gear and hazardous materials handling training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate filters, chlorinators, and chemical feeders in a treatment plant.
• Provide work direction to lower-level technicians.
• Work rotating shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
