Job summary

The City of Annapolis is seeking a skilled supervisory professional to operate and maintain the Water Supply and Treatment Facility (WSTF). The role includes performing duties of plant operators, assisting the Water Plant Superintendent with training, and overseeing maintenance and supply requisitions.

In the absence of the Superintendent, you will ensure continuous operation, supervise staff, schedule shifts, enforce policies, and engage with the public to explain treatment processes and plant

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with an Associate degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental Science or Business.
• Extensive experience in operation and maintenance of a water plant.
• Equivalency allowed with relevant training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect plant operations and monitor equipment; advise on process changes.
• Confer with engineers on treatment process improvements.
• Direct plant operations in absence of the Water Plant Superintendent.
• Prepare shift schedules and enforce rules and policies.
• Plan and direct a comprehensive training program for staff.
• Oversee maintenance work, track budgets, and engage with the public about plant processes.
