Job summary

The City of West Sacramento is seeking an experienced Senior Water Treatment Plant Operator to lead the Water Treatment Plant team. This senior role manages complex operations and provides mentorship to lower-level operators while ensuring safe, compliant plant performance.

Under the supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent, you will oversee daily operations, maintenance planning, laboratory testing, regulatory reporting, and procurement support.

Qualifications

• T4 certificate and D3 distribution certificate are required.
• Three years as a shift operator at a T5 facility is expected.
• Experience leading operators and coordinating maintenance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise complex treatment plant operations.
• Develop schedules, direct staff, and ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain records, run lab tests, and prepare regulatory reports.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and parts procurement.
