Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Sherman, TX office is seeking an Environmental or Civil Engineer with 4+ years of relevant experience to join their Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. This on-site role offers opportunities to design water treatment and conveyance systems, lead projects, and collaborate with clients and regulators.

The candidate will work on diverse facilities, contribute to planning and budgeting, and mentor junior staff while engaging with multidisciplinary teams and external clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) License.
• Municipal engineering experience including designing treatment and conveyance systems.
• Preferred experience with Revit.
• Experience performing hydraulic modeling (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to lead a team and manage clients.

Responsibilities

• Design water treatment or water reclamation facilities (RO, NF, UV, lime softening, MBR/SBR/CAS).
• Design transmission and distribution, collection systems, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.
• Manage project tasks, design, permitting, and construction coordination; mentor staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to complete projects.
• Maintain high-quality plans and review colleagues' work.
• Create work plans and manage budgets; monitor progress with clients.
