Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Holly Springs office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our Water/Wastewater team in a non-remote role. The engineer will design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities, while coordinating with clients and regulators.

The role emphasizes project management, mentoring of staff, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality plans and compliant designs on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• P.E. License (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Experience designing pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Experience performing hydraulic modeling (using WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, etc.).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with potential to lead a practice and manage clients and a team.

Responsibilities

• Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, and master planning.
• Manage project tasks, design and permitting, construction coordination, and guide less experienced staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to complete projects.
• Maintain high quality sets of plans and review others’ work.
• Create work plans, adhere to budgets, and exercise strong project management.
• Attend meetings with clients, government entities, and regulatory agencies to meet requirements.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
