Job summary

The St. Johns River Water Management District seeks a senior-level engineer to perform advanced analysis, planning, design, and management of flood protection and water control projects. You will lead design reviews, cost estimates, and permit applications while coordinating across districts and contractors.

Responsibilities include field inspections, data management, and supporting emergency operations. A Florida PE license is preferred and travel to District facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering and related experience.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida preferred for PE level; advanced degree may substitute experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform complex engineering assignments supporting flood protection and water control infrastructure.
• Develop and review designs, calculations, cost estimates, drawings, and permits; supervise consultants and contractors.
• Provide senior technical support for flood protection operations, data management, and emergency response.
