You will install, remove, calibrate, repair and test meters, troubleshoot remote metering gear, and handle on/off service activations while addressing customer inquiries. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accurate data reporting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience with water meters and AMR equipment.
• Knowledge of water meter installation, calibration, reading, maintenance, repair and testing.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
• Strong communication with colleagues, the public and officials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and participate in readings and maintenance of water meters and related equipment.
• Install, remove, calibrate, repair and test meters; program and troubleshoot radios and handheld units.
• Turn water services on or off; respond to meter inquiries and issues.
• Lead work by organizing and prioritizing service orders; guide subordinates and answer questions.
• Schedule meter change-outs; coordinate site readiness and contractor services as needed.
• Maintain inventories; order parts and manage vendor deliveries.
• Promote safety by leading meetings and coaching on safe work practices.
