Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines.
• Knowledge of standard safety processes, work gear, and procedures.
• Knowledge of water distribution systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers, the public, and officials both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to alphabetize and numerically sequence materials.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with City administration, other employees, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sites for work and maintain vehicles and tools.
• Repair and maintain water and sewer lines and mains.
• Complete work orders and assist with water cutoffs and reconnects.
• Inspect sites and ensure traffic safety with cones, barricades, and signs.
• Locate water and sewer mains and valves for contractors.
• Work on-call to address duties as they arise.
• Ensure continuous operation of water and sewer pipes by performing repairs.
