Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator III to oversee operation, maintenance and monitoring of wastewater facilities, including headworks, liquids treatment, solids handling, odor control, SCADA, and lift stations.

You will train and mentor staff, ensure safety, maintain logs, coordinate repairs, and respond to emergencies in a fast-paced district environment. Requires a Texas license and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree or trade certification is preferred.
• Maintain knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Must be able to troubleshoot equipment and interpret lab results.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and adjust facility operations using SCADA and instrumentation.
• Train, lead, and mentor staff; ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Plan and perform maintenance; maintain logs and records; respond to emergencies.
