Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician for wastewater facilities. You will plan, supervise, and perform maintenance across headworks, treatment, solids handling, and SCADA systems to ensure water quality and safety.

You will lead a team, develop maintenance plans, manage work orders, and enforce safe work practices while coordinating with operations during emergencies and outages.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; an associate degree or trade cert preferred.
• Four years of experience in industrial maintenance or related field.
• Preference for CMRT and CMRP certifications and a Texas water license.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise facility maintenance, repairs, and asset conditioning.
• Lead, train, and evaluate staff; foster safe, collaborative work culture.
• Create and manage work orders; monitor backlog and scheduling.
• Review logs and diagnose issues; perform root-cause analyses.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans for facilities.
