Job summary

KBR's Marine Corps Prepositioning Program in Jacksonville, Florida seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to plan, organize, and lead day-to-day automotive maintenance operations for light/medium wheeled vehicles.

The role emphasizes training, production standards, safety compliance, and collaboration across departments, with a focus on improving maintenance processes and ensuring equipment readiness in support of USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Qualifications

  • Must pass U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Associate’s degree and/or coursework towards a BS in mechanical engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • 8 years of related work experience including 2 years of supervisory experience in motor transport.
  • Completion of motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent.
  • Ability to review technical specifications and requirements.
  • Ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare parts.
  • Ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to identify improvements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics who are performing automotive mechanic duties to inspection, all levels of maintenance, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics engaged in repairing, adjusting, servicing, and storing motor vehicles.
  • Responsible for equipment readiness, maintenance shop organizations, control of maintenance assets and providing advice on all matters relating to light/medium wheeled vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure mechanics are properly trained in all maintenance functions.
  • Determines sequence and assignment of work based on work priority and quantity of equipment to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Keeps inventory of repair parts and equipment and requisitions replacement stock. Inspects work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules.
  • Interpret specifications, drawing, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
  • Coordinates department activities with other departments.
  • Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies.
  • Supervise and manage the administration of workspace for motor transport equipment repair.
  • Recommend changes to procedures as appropriate.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all MCPP ISO-9002 policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
