Job summary

KBR in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to plan, organize, and lead day-to-day activities of the maintenance team for light/medium wheeled vehicles, ensuring readiness and compliance with safety and ISO-9002 policies.

You will mentor mechanics, coordinate with other departments, and drive improvements in maintenance processes while meeting production standards. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • 8 years of directly related work experience including 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment.
  • Completion of motor transport maintenance officer course or equivalent.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics performing automotive maintenance and repair.
  • Ensures equipment readiness, maintenance shop organization, and proper asset control.
  • Determines work sequence based on priority and quantities to optimize resources.
  • Keeps repair parts inventory and ensures adherence to specifications and schedules.
  • Interprets specifications, drawings, work orders, and technical instructions.
  • Coordinates department activities with other departments and enforces safety policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

As the Maintenance Supervisor you will plan, organize, and lead day-to-day activities of one or more departmental or functional activities. You will be responsible for implementing training requirements and monitoring employee performance. Establish production standards, monitor compliance, and recommend operational improvements. Assist the manager in accomplishing the short and long-term goals for the department/function.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics who are performing automotive mechanic duties to inspection, all levels of maintenance, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics engaged in repairing, adjusting, servicing, and storing motor vehicles.
  • Responsible for equipment readiness, maintenance shop organizations, control of maintenance assets and providing advice on all matters relating to light/medium wheeled vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure mechanics are properly trained in all maintenance functions.
  • Determines sequence and assignment of work based on work priority and quantity of equipment to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Keeps inventory of repair parts and equipment and requisitions replacement stock. Inspects work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules.
  • Interpret specifications, drawing, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
  • Coordinates department activities with other departments.
  • Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies.
  • Supervise and manage the administration of workspace for motor transport equipment repair.
  • Recommend changes to procedures as appropriate.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all MCPP ISO-9002 policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.
  • Associate’s degree and/or course work towards a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or other related discipline is preferred. In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
  • Must have 8 years of directly related work experience including 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment.
  • Must have completed the motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent.
  • Requires the ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
  • The ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment is required.
  • Must have the ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • USMC MOS 3510 or 3529 or Army MOS 91X or 91Z.
