Job summary

Qualifications

• Must pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance.
• U.S. citizen required for eligibility.
• Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline preferred; BS coursework acceptable in lieu of degree.
• 8 years of directly related work experience including 2 years in a supervisory role in motor transport.
• Ability to review technical specifications and forecast spare parts/equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanics performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles.
• Coordinate activities to ensure equipment readiness and maintenance of assets.
• Maintain inventory of repair parts and requisition replacements as needed.
• Ensure safety requirements, procedures, and policies are followed by staff.
• Determine work sequences based on priority and available resources.
• Assist the manager in achieving short- and long-term department goals.
