Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation is seeking a Principal Integration & Vehicle Architecture Engineer to own vehicle-level integration across platforms. You will define structure, interfaces, and design rules across chassis, body, powertrain, and electrical systems, driving architecture decisions that affect performance, cost, and serviceability.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage DMU processes, work with suppliers, and guide prototypes through production, ensuring build-ready, scalable solutions

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of vehicle system architecture and cross-domain integration.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the vehicle architecture, establishing interfaces and design rules.
• Lead full vehicle packaging and envelope across systems for manufacturability.
• Drive external platform integration and production-ready interfaces.
• Own DMU process, reviews, standards, and clash-free designs.
• Define system interfaces with clear ownership and traceability.
• Create and own product and system requirements for rapid development.
• Drive trade-offs among performance, cost, weight, and serviceability.
• Align engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
• Collaborate with vendors to define requirements and resolve constraints.
• Lead integration from prototype to production.
• Ensure designs support build efficiency and field serviceability.
• Operate in ambiguity to deliver results quickly.
