Job summary

HDR seeks an experienced roadway design professional to lead detailed urban roadway projects in Baton Rouge. You will perform QA on major transportation projects and act as a technical expert in complex problem solving.

Client interaction and project management duties are part of the role, with supervision of staff as needed. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, 10+ years of roadway design experience, and a PE license.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Minimum of 10 years experience in roadway engineering design.
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board.
Proven leadership, communication, and ability to work with various teams.
Project management experience is desirable.
Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, planning, site planning, alignments and CAD base layouts.
Coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

Serve as lead technical role in detailed development of urban roadway design projects.
Perform QA checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state systems.
Serve as a technical expert with authority to resolve complex problems.
Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.
Supervise medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
Perform other duties as needed.
