Job summary

Crum & Forster’s Middle Market Solutions division seeks an Executive Underwriter to scale growth across the Southeast and Southcentral US, with a remote-friendly setup and preferred presence in Chattanooga/Knoxville, TN or Houston, TX. You will lead underwriting for Property, General Liability, Auto, and Workers’ Compensation, manage broker relationships, and drive profitable growth.

You will collaborate with Regional Management, build agency pipelines, and analyze data to select superior risks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Strong relationships with agencies in the territories assigned.
• Innovative and entrepreneurial spirit and flexible approach to business with AI-assisted underwriting.
• Strong underwriting knowledge of Property, General Liability, Automobile and Workers’ Compensation.
• Knowledge of LOBs within Manufacturing, Retail, Wholesale, Real Estate and other general industry risks.
• Strong communication and analytical skills to pursue new business and manage renewal book.
• Proficient in software needed to succeed in department.
• Knowledge and experience in dealing with territory-specific broker relationships.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Possesses or is pursuing underwriting and industry designations applicable to area of specialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting contact for the regional territory and work directly with Regional Management.
• Manage broker relationships and develop agency relationships.
• Analyze underwriting data to select superior risks and build a profitable book of business.
• Maintain strong relationships internally and externally to achieve profitability and growth.
• Drive cross-sell within Crum & Forster and Fairfax entities.
• Travel may be required; lead broker relationships and regional planning.
