Job summary

Sanmina Corporation is seeking a Senior Manager of U.S. Export Compliance to lead the global ITC program. The role reports to the Senior Director, International Trade Compliance or General Counsel and oversees a small team of remote analysts.

Responsibilities include policy execution, training, and coordination with plant managers, customers, and suppliers on classification and screening, with a focus on ITAR, EAR, and OFAC compliance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in U.S. export compliance, including managing a corporate Export Compliance Program for a global manufacturing company.
• Minimum 10 years people management experience, including leading, motivating and managing remote staff.
• Extensive knowledge of ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations, including emerging issues and challenges for U.S. exporters
• Strong jurisdiction/classification skills across the U.S. Munitions List and the EAR Control List
• Experience in developing and implementing trade compliance automation and tools
• Adaptable and flexible; ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements to operational processes and drive cross-functional projects

Responsibilities

• Ensure documented policies and procedures are in place for the corporate Export Compliance Program, as required under ITAR, EAR and OFAC.
• Determine and implement new procedures to address regulatory changes and risks.
• Develop and implement effective communication, training plans and compliance tools for all aspects of U.S. export compliance.
• Act as primary liaison to U.S. plant managers and site export compliance officers; provide compliance support and oversight.
• Interface with plant personnel, customers and suppliers to manage export classifications.
• Oversee customer and transaction screening programs; review and resolve escalations.
• Manage the technology control program and conduct deemed export reviews.
• Submit classification requests and license applications to BIS and State Dept (ITAR) as required; manage DDTC registrations.
• Support senior leadership on special projects, such as due diligence and voluntary disclosures.
• Locations: San Jose, CA; Huntsville, AL; other locations may be considered.
