Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join our Inland Northwest team across Boise, Coeur d'Alene, Pocatello, Spokane, or Tri-Cities.

You will lead roadway design tasks on multidisciplinary transportation projects, from concept to final plans, with opportunities to mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of civil engineering experience with roadway design, and licensure in Idaho and/or Washington or ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Active Idaho Professional Engineer license and Washington license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience with substantial roadway design experience.
• Experience using OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D for transportation projects.
• Experience delivering projects for state DOTs and local agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design tasks from conceptual development through final design and construction documents.
• Develop alignments, profiles, typical sections, grading plans, and ADA-compliant facilities.
• Prepare and review plans using OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyze survey data and maps.
• Prepare technical reports, quantities, cost estimates, and design documentation.
• Coordinate roadway design with structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, and other disciplines.
• Mentor junior staff and review work products for quality and completeness.
• Communicate technical information to project managers, clients, and agencies.
• Support project schedules and participate in client and agency meetings.
