Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to join our Inland Northwest team in Boise, Idaho, with responsibilities spanning Idaho and Eastern Washington.

You will lead roadway design processes, develop alignments, prepare plans, and coordinate across disciplines, mentoring junior staff and engaging with clients and agencies to deliver high‑quality transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Current Idaho Professional Engineer license and WA license (or ability to obtain WA within 6 months) required.
• Seven+ years of civil engineering experience with substantial transportation design experience.
• Experience developing transportation plans with OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Experience delivering projects for state DOTs and local agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design tasks from concept to final design and construction documents.
• Develop horizontal/vertical alignments, typical sections, grading plans, and ADA facilities.
• Prepare and review plans using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyze survey data and maps.
• Prepare technical reports, quantities, cost estimates, and design documentation.
• Coordinate roadway design with structures, drainage, utilities, traffic, and disciplines.
• Mentor junior staff and review work products for quality.
