Job summary

PACE Southeast Michigan is seeking a Lead Transportation Driver who will oversee daily transportation operations for participants at our Day Health Center. The role includes backup coordination duties, ensuring vehicle safety, and coordinating route assignments in real time.

Responsibilities include leading morning meetings, managing route adjustments, and distributing medications as needed, while maintaining strong communication with staff and participants.

Qualifications

• Three years’ work experience in related field and/or supervision of five or more staff.
• Must hold a valid Michigan CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement.
• Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or more.
• Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have up-to-date immunizations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and scheduling transportation for participants.
• Serve as backup Transportation Coordinator when needed.
• Ensure vehicles are kept in safe working order and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Distribute medications and manage real-time route adjustments.
• Lead daily A.M. meetings and assign route escorts.
