Job summary

STV in Asheville, NC is seeking Construction Inspectors to support our Transportation division in guiding inspection on DOT projects. You'll travel to sites, enforce safety standards, and document daily progress while mentoring junior staff.

The ideal candidate has CEI experience, NCDOT certifications or the ability to obtain them within six months, and a valid driver's license. Expect to work nights/weekends as needed on roadway projects across the state.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years CEI experience.
• Must possess the listed NCDOT certifications or acquire them within 6 months.
• Must hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Apply safety philosophy to all duties and work safely outdoors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Establish engineering controls and inspect construction work.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and perform material testing.
• Measure and document completed work and interpret plans.
• Communicate effectively with project staff and clients, in writing and verbally.
• Read construction plans and technical specs and use basic tablet tools.
