Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, public policy, finance, economics, or related field.
• 8 years of relevant experience in energy analysis, engineering, or compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication; strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
• Self-directed with ability to mentor peers.
• Work in a cross-functional team and drive cooperation.
• Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills.
• Interpersonal skills to build industry contacts and influence outcomes.
• Understanding of utility operations, policy issues, and FERC regulation.
• Understanding of FERC transmission and generator interconnection procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex transmission and generator interconnection requests while complying with tariffs.
• Provide expert-level support for elevated customer concerns and coordinate with external entities.
• Implement FERC transmission and OATT compliance programs.
• Research statutes, regulations and orders to ensure compliance and efficient processes.
• Provide strategic guidance for federal, regional, and state rulemaking and tariff filings.
• Oversee development of training programs on regulatory compliance.
• Interact with auditors; address audit concerns and implement solutions.
• Investigate potential regulatory/compliance violations; drive long-term improvements.
• Support assessments of effectiveness of compliance controls.
• Communicate pending regulatory proposals and align with company objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
