Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a seasoned T&D transmission line engineer in the United States to lead design efforts for 12 kV–500 kV projects, including overhead and underground lines. The role involves mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with clients and regulators, and driving feasibility, cost estimation, and tender documentation.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic environment, applying PLS tools and GIS to optimize designs and ensure compliance with US standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• P.E. registration is required or eligible to obtain within 1–2 years.
• Minimum 5 years of transmission lines design experience for Lead level.
• Minimum 10 years of transmission lines design experience for Principal level.
• Proficiency with PLS software suite (PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE/PLS-TOWER).
• Knowledge of US transmission line design codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing active RFPs and developing proposals.
• Lead a team of T&D engineers and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Detailed design of 12 kV to 500 kV overhead transmission lines.
• Underground transmission line design from 12 kV to 230 kV.
• Conduct feasibility and planning studies.
• Prepare project cost estimates, specs, and tender documents.
• Mentor junior engineers and interface with clients/contractors.
• Coordinate with disciplines and review work; interface with permitting/regulatory bodies.
• Perform field reviews during construction; potential Project Engineer/Manager role.
