Job summary

MSD is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead translational and clinical biomarker strategies across hematology programs, with emphasis on CML and myeloid malignancies. You will translate disease biology and therapeutic mechanisms into actionable biomarker plans guiding clinical development from early to late stages.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing translational or clinical biomarker strategies in hematology/oncology drug development.
• Strong understanding of hematologic disease biology, molecular drivers, and resistance mechanisms.
• Ability to translate biology into decision-oriented biomarker strategies for clinical development.
• Experience leading cross-functional biomarker activities in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated translational and clinical biomarker strategies across hematology programs with emphasis on CML.
• Translate biology and mechanisms into translational hypotheses and fit-for-purpose biomarker approaches.
• Define how biomarkers inform development questions: dose, patient selection, molecular response, and go/no-go decisions.
• Lead cross-functional teams and provide scientific leadership for biomarker input.
• Integrate translational evidence to support registrational strategies and differentiation.
