Job summary

Real Staffing seeks a Principal Scientist, Translational Medicine in San Diego to lead and manage translational biomarker projects, assess mechanisms of action, and support translating drug discovery programs into the clinic.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Translational Medicine, the role requires collaboration with Discovery, Clinical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology, and external CROs to drive translational hypotheses and oversee biomarker assays development including immunoassays and flow

Qualifications

• PhD or MD in immunology or related field.
• Fully fluent in written and spoken English.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in biotech/pharma industry in Biomarker Development.
• Strong knowledge of autoimmune disease pathogenesis and molecular technologies to drive program decisions.
• Track record of managing projects with CROs and immunoassay/flow cytometry development.
• Excellent oral and written communication, with ability to present to global teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage biomarker projects driving translational hypotheses for treatment response.
• Analyze, interpret, and present biomarker data cross-functionally and to external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with CROs on development of biomarker assays (immunoassays and flow cytometry).
• Support review and authoring of translational medicine aspects of clinical and regulatory documents.
• Serve as a scientific thought-leader and connect with external literature.
• Perform duties in line with company values and regulations.
