Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Chief Traffic Engineer in Illinois to lead QA/QC reviews, oversee traffic analysis and design, and mentor staff across multiple offices.

The role requires 15+ years of experience and a current Illinois PE or ability to obtain it within six months. The position offers flexible full-time or part-time arrangements, a signing bonus of $10,000 for full-time hires, and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in civil engineering or related degree.
• Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• IDOT and IL Tollway experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA/QC reviews of traffic models and design studies to ensure standards.
• Monitor the quality and progress of traffic engineering tasks on active projects and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior staff to execute major projects across the country.
• Serve as a senior technical advisor and trusted partner to clients across markets.
• Help recruit, mentor, and develop traffic engineering staff across multiple offices.
• Participate in the development of internal and external professional development programs.
• Assist in marketing Hanson’s traffic engineering expertise to clients and prospects.
